From: RichL on 1 Jun 2010 14:56 Hi, I have just installed NIS 2010 on my XP box. I also have Spybot Search and Destroy/Adaware/Malwarebytes installed as well. Is this overkill or is NIS 2010 enough to do the job of protecting my pc from spyware/adware/malware? -Rich

No single program is perfect at finding ALL malware, especially spyware, and thus there is still a need for multiple scanners. IMO you have a good assortment of tools. I've found the NIS firewall to be quite easy to use, too. And effective of course. I also have superantispyware. NIS 2010 is good, provides good tools, but still mainly an AV application. There is no Norton product for the Home User that is compatible with Windows. None. Make sure you're using IE8 also. It has extra security features that help a lot. If not, make sure whichever browser you use is updated. And just practice common sense such as not opening suspicions attachments that you didn't expect, not going to shady Web sites, using a non-admin account, etc. I only use the free edition of Avira AntiVir on all my computers. I don't get carried away with all these anti-malware products. -- Regards, M MCTS, MCSA http://SysAdmin-E.com "RichL" <RichL(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E81513B9-74B5-4E42-B8FF-4ABBC313FA30(a)microsoft.com... > Hi, > > I have just installed NIS 2010 on my XP box.
