From: wolfman on 28 Mar 2010 02:37 I'd like to input some Arabic text into a Matlab m file using the Matlab Editor. However, whenever I type in Arabic and save the file and then open it again, the Arabic text that I saved earlier turns into a couple of question marks (????). I was able to solve this problem by using notepad to open and edit files instead of the default Matlab Editor, but I would still rather use the default Matlab text editor because I consider it much easier on the eyes when viewing m file source code. Is there anyway to correctly display Arabic text correctly with the Matlab text editor? So far I have tried changing the Desktop code font into a dozen different fonts to no avail. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit and I have set my locale and default keyboard setup to Arabic but that didn't work either. I've searched everywhere for a solution but found nothing so far. I'm completely stumped on this one, so any help would be appreciated.

Alright. For anyone else having the same problem, I actually found out a way to display Arabic with the default Matlab editor. If you're using Windows then all you have to do is change the format in "Region and Language" to Arabic...And you're done! It's simple really, I just wish I didn't waste time by experimenting with all the different fonts inside of Matlab. |
