From: Jeff Stroope on 26 Sep 2008 12:42 Hello, I have a reporting services report that groups by business unit. The report has 7 columns. One of the columns uses the COUNT function. If I run the report for 1 business unit, I get about 14000 records. These records collapse to 1 row when I click the business unit drill down. The process of exporting this report to Excel, from clicking the Export button in SSRS to when I can get a response from the cursor in Excel file, takes like 5 minutes. In Excel, when I expand or collapse the subtotal (my business unit group from SSRS) the response time is very long and it kind of renders other applications (Outlook, etc.) useless until the expand or collapse is finished. If I run the stored procedure for the report in Management Studio and just paste the result set into Excel, there's no problem - the file responds very fast. Is this a well-known issue and are there any fixes for it? This problem basically makes the report impratical for users. We have SSRS 2005 (version 9.00.1406.00) installed. -- Thanks, Jeff
