Hi everyone,

One of my colleagues created a simple experiment with MATLAB & PsychToolbox 3 which displays an image and saves the subsequent response (Yes/No) in a text file. The experiment goes through about 1200 trials (abt 30-40mins to complete), and when we quickly test run the program by pressing Yes or No randomly and rapidly, the data saves perfectly fine; however, when we actually test run the program by pressing Yes or No based on the image displayed, MATLAB doesn't seem to save the data correctly -- even though we responded 50-50 Yes-No, it sometimes only saves all responses as Yes, or only saves the latter half of the responses correctly (i.e. the first 300 trials are Yes, the rest are correctly saved as Yes-No).

Neither one of us are really sure why this happens, since quickly going through the program results in everything being saved correctly, but purposeful responses are saved incorrectly. Does anyone have any idea why this might be or has encountered issues like this in the past?

I think you want to look for a forum dedicated to the PsychToolbox.
