I'm having issues with the above 3 updates. I've attempted to install them
numerous times but I keep being notified about them and when I access windows
update they show as needing to be installed. However my history shows that
they have been installed successfully at least 3 times each.

KB979909 shows in Add/Remove programs but the others do not, however all
have been logged as being successfully installed in ReportingEvents.log.

I have tried all the steps included in KB910339 which has eventually led me
here. Starting in Safe Mode seemed like a good plan apart from Windows
Installer can't run in Safe Mode.

I have run regsvr32 /s scrrun.dll which was Rusty's suggestion to a another
post about 979909 but without success.

Given the discrepancies about whether the updates have actually been
successful or not any help in verifying 100% whether the updates have been
worked would be greatly appreciated and if not any further suggestions on how
I might go about getting them installed.

Many thanks

I have the same issue.
I have even manually downloaded the updates and installed them, they still
show up as if they where never done.
I have tried booting up in safe mode and can not install in safe mode.

I also have the same problem but also with a few more updates than are listed
here. I have tried everything and finally resorted to hiding them in
Microsoft Update to stop them driving me demented. I have flagged the problem
to MS Tech Support twice but never got anything back from them.

Like Rodger I have downloaded them manually and installed them but it still
does not solve the problem which started about 6 weeks ago and is now a daily
occurrance.

If anyone out there knows a MS Tech Support person who is actually alive and
working can they please get him/her to do something about this.

If nobody who is actually experiencing the problem contacts Microsoft about it,
there isn't anything they can do.

Since 979909, at least, is a security update, it qualifies for free technical
support.

I suggest starting here:

<http://support.microsoft.com/>

http://support.microsoft.com/

Zoom down to the bottom left and click on "contact a support professional by
email, online, or phone".
