From: Marts on 27 Feb 2010 19:35 I've just installed MS Outlook 2007 as a part of the Office 07 package onto a new computer running Windows 7 64b Home Premium. It's a change for me going from Outlook 2003. I have a few questions if someone can answer them for me. 1. When I print a monthly calendar, only the first couple of words or say, 10 characters of an event's description is printed. And not all events on any date that has say, 2 or more events are printed out. What can I do to get Outlook to print all events that appear on any specific day? It used to work fine with Outlook 03. 2. I also use Outlook at work. When I create a new calendar entry at work I use the function "invite attendees" to send the new event to my home email address and for Outlook at home to import the calendar event. I do this as a way to "sync' my work and home calendars. On Outlook O7 the event will appear as such: Marts: Dentist appt I cannot change the description, either. I have to delete the event and redo it. I'd like it so that my name, which to OL is the name of the organiser of the event, isn't displayed. OL 03 doesn't do this. Any way around this, other than to delete the imported event? 3. I download a utility from MS to allow an ActiveSync conduit as Win7 no longer supports Windows Mobile devices natively. Are there any other utils out there that can do this? I think that this one is a tad flaky as for a while, when I first sync'ed the PDA with OL 07 it was creating double entries in both the PDA and in Outlook. It took some time editing and deleting events before it sorted itself out. My view of Office 2007 is that it looks flashier than its predecessor. Unfortuneately, looking "flashy" does not a perfectly functioning application make. But for now I'm stuck with it as O3 won't work on the new PC. I presume that it's a Win32/Win7 64b conflict problem.

Otherwise, how much you see depends on the space available - you'll see more appt in portrait but more text in landscape. http://slipstick.me/calprint has links to the calendar printing assistant and other utilities. The Word templates do a good job too. 2. Outlook 2007 shows the organizers name, this can't be changed. 3. if you previously synced the pda and have the tool set to sync both ways, it will duplicate events on the first sync as it copies events back and forth. After the first sync, things should be ok. If you even need to re-establish the partnership. you should clear the device first. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com/ Outlook Tips by email: mailto:dailytips-subscribe-request(a)lists.outlooktips.net EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: mailto:EMO-NEWSLETTER-SUBSCRIBE-REQUEST(a)PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM How many email accounts are in your main Outlook profile? http://forums.slipstick.com/showthread.php?t=36602 "Marts" <marts(a)ymail.com> wrote in message news:qlpio5502miard2d9ajf3if2ahfbnhvgpv(a)ymail.com... > I've just installed MS Outlook 2007 as a part of the Office 07 package > onto a > new computer running Windows 7 64b Home Premium. From: Marts on 1 Mar 2010 20:14 Thanks for the help, Diane. I'll have a play with it when I get the chance. Diane Poremsky [MVP] wrote... > 1. I find it ironic that Microsoft is providing tools to make Outlook function better. Why not release a service pack or something so that the program can function how people want it to function without the need for 3rd Party apps? It seems to print all of the data now. But there are a few issues that I have with it. 1. Weekday starts on Monday. While it doesn't bother me my wife prefers the calendar format where the week starts on a Sunday. I can't seem to find where this is changed. Outlook has it set correct. 2. The events per date are left justified and go across about half of the cell for each day. So, all the appts. appear to be bunched up and looks weird, particularly when the start/end times are included for events that aren't "all day". Eg: 5:00PM - 8:00PM Philip's Birthday (Bistro Lounge) It'd be good if it displayed thus: 5:00PM - 8:00PM Philip's Birthday (Bistro Lounge) Or however many characters can fit on one line in each day cell. 3. Difficult to figure out how to change font size, but I'm working on it. I have a calendar printed from Outlook 07 in front of me. Tomorrow is Friday. On that date there is one event which starts at 5pm and goes through to 8pm. It looks like this: 5:00pm 8:00pm Philip's b In OL 03 it would have had the full title: "Philip's Birthday". So, it appears to put timed events as one line per date. Oh, the event appears the same within Outlook itself. But I can hover the mouse over it to get the full details. That, unsurprisingly, doesn't work on a piece of paper... Ps. for those still reading and who may be curious, I only went to Outlook 07 because I cannot get 03 to run under Windows 7 64b.
