Hello,

I've got many mp3 tracks that belong both to the album and to a compilation.

Since with this organization I have many duplicates, is there a way to
associate a single mp3 tracks to multiple album ? (or one album and one
compilation)

Thank you

Nope.

Not even with clever use of aliases?

Not tried, just a thought.

Generally speaking, a given track on a compilation or `the original
album' won't sound the same due to differences in preparing the master
copy in each case - worth bearing in mind. I've got multiple copies of
several tracks because of that - ALC, not mp3 (why put up with less than
top quality especially when you've got the original CD, eh?)

If you really must use mp3, do get LAME to do your encoding - it's
*hugely* better than any other mp3 encoder I've tried (most certainly
compared to that in iTunes).

.... and use -q 0 as one of your command line options, too.

Noise shaping & psycho acoustic algorithms:
-q <arg> <arg> = 0...9. Default -q 5
-q 0: Highest quality, very slow
-q 9: Poor quality, but fast
-h Same as -q 2. Recommended.
-f Same as -q 7. Fast, ok quality

I use this - works on 10.6, gives you a sort of GUI interface to LAME:

Jaimie's right - there isn't.

But what might solve the problem I think you have is to copy the track,
then change the album information so that one copy is part of one album,
and the other copy is part of another.

If you need help doing this, just ask.
