Here's my situation:

A few weeks ago, my hard drive died and I had to have it replaced. I
used Time Machine to restore everything. However, I purposely hadn't
backed up my subscribed podcasts so they weren't restored.

Now, some episodes of the podcasts have a little exclamation point icon
in the leftmost column. When I click on the exclamation point, ITunes
asks me to locate the file on my computer. However, the file no longer
exists on my computer so I click Cancel.

What I'd like to do, though, is to re-download some of those individual
episodes. However, I can't figure how to do it. I can't find a way to
tell ITunes that the podcast episode no longer on my computer and that I
want to "Get" it again.

Does anyone know how I can do it?

Thanks.

Control-Click on the podcast (the main entry).
Select "Show all available episodes"

If it will not let you download an episode you have listed, but
the file is missing, just delete the dead entry, and do the
Control-Click "Show all available episodes" again.

Bob, thanks for the tips. I deleted the episodes with the exclamation
point. However, when I Control-clicked and selected "Show all available
episodes again," those deleted episodes didn't show up. I'm pretty sure
those episodes are still available. I'm not sure what else to try.

Some podcasts trim their rss feeds they post via iTunes, and only
keep the last 'n' entries. Some podcasts include every episode.

You could try going to the podcasts web site. You can often times
download a podcast directly from the podcast's website and then
drag and drop it into iTunes.
