From: parreyparrey on 9 Dec 2009 22:14 Greetings Guys .... I hope it's ok posting this question here. I need to add an animation to my website. But it's not transparent. So, I opened up JASC Animation Shop v3.04- imported my animation. But couldn't understand how to do it. I tried the help files - just my luck ... the software says - hekp file not found. So, I tried online search - even youtube. I can't find anything! Can someone who knows JASC Animation Shop - please walk me through the process of making a .gif animation transparent in JASC Animation Shop. I would appreciate this so much ... Thanks! Paris

In AS3.04 there is a "Replace Color" function on the Animation menu. You can use this to replace a specific color (plus controllable tolerance) with transparent pixels. Select: Replace Color In: All Frames Replace Old Color: click on the color in one of the anim frames (and set the tolerance/matchmode if desired) With: transparent opacity If your gif has a common background color it can be done in one step, although if the edges of the subject in the animation are anti-aliased you might need to use tolerance to stop seeing a trace outline of the old background color. You might also need to run the replacement several times if the background is different colors. If the background uses colors that are in the foreground object, you'd probably have to edit the frames manually to recreate the transparent pixels.
