Does anyone know of any issues with jumpstarting Solaris 10 SPARC
systems using a solaris8 SPARC jumpstart server? What about sol10 x86
with sol8 sparc jumpstart server?

Both of those can be done without problems. Just be sure to use the
add_install_client
found in the jumpstart directory of the Solaris version you want to
install
(e.g. /jumpstart/Solaris_10_sparc/Solaris_10/Tools/add_install_client)

If using PXE boot from an S8 JumpStart server for an S10, there was a
little bug over the size of the data transfered via tftpd.

The solution was to copy in.tftpd from an S9 box to the S8 box

To boot Solaris 10u6 client from Solaris 9 Jumpstart server,
I had to set NFS_CLIENT_VERSMAX=3 /etc/default/nfs in the client's CD
image
in order to allow NFSv3 only,
otherwise the client wanted to use NFSv4 which server did not
support.

Not sure if this has been fixed in later releases of Solaris 10.
