From: thinman on 12 May 2010 22:44 "Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 Security Update for Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP". This appeared in the Tuesday updates of 05-11-10. It goes through the installation process and even states that it is installed; however, the yellow shield in the sys tray remains and clicking on it still shows the update file. Have installed, rebooted; installed, not rebooted; installed, installed, installed and rebooted and it stays showing as an update needing to be installed. Under Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, it shows as an update dating back to 10/2009, only showing " KB974417 " as the name of the update. 2 lines above it shows an entry for " .NET Framework 2 " dated 03/31/2009. How can I get the update notification to drop this particular file ?? OR, what do I need to do to remedy the problem ? thanks ray

From: PA Bear [MS MVP] on 15 May 2010 02:44 To avoid confusion, please begin a new thread in the appropriate newsgroup about your specific problem and computer. State your IE version and full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; WinXP 64-bit SP2; Vista SP1; Vista 64-bit SP2; Win7; Win7 64-bit) in your first post. Or open a free support incident. Thank you. scsisys wrote: > PA Bear.... > > KB976569 is not in the Add/Remove List > > Had gone to the MS site , following the various links prior to my posting, > but > posted to see if this was something others were experiencing or just me. > > Thanks for the reply. > ray > > > "PA Bear [MS MVP]" <PABearMVP(a)gmail.com> wrote in message > news:OC45ilm8KHA.4648(a)TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >> [X-post to Windows Update] >> >> Is KB976569 listed in Add/Remove Programs? >> >> See the "How to obtain help" section of >> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/974417 >> >> For home users, no-charge support is available by calling 1-866-PCSAFETY >> (1-866-727-2338; and/or 1-866-234-6020 and/or 1-800-936-5700) in the >> United States and in Canada or by contacting your local Microsoft >> subsidiary.
