"simultaneous events" means in terms of a physically verifiable

We were discussing this a while back, when you bailed on the

The clocks' synchronization can be (and is) checked both before and
after the operations described above and verified to still hold, so
your supposition of what must have happened is ruled out. I want to
emphasize that this is observational reality, even if you are stymied
to explain how it can be, given your presently held concept sets about
how nature works.

When a magician does a stunt in front of an audience, he is playing on
the audience members' preconceptions about how things work. When a
surprising result occurs, the audience members mentally come up with
two or three candidate ideas about how that result could have arisen.
Then the magician methodically shows the audience that those ideas are
ruled out. This leaves the audience with the only alternative that it
is "magic". It is not magic, of course -- there is a perfectly
rational account -- but it's just not among the list that the audience
members have entertained. But it is a rare bird indeed who will say,
"Well, then, it must not have happened, because I cannot think of a
way it could have happened."

In physics, it's first important to acknowledge that what happens in
experiment has really happened. If necessary, have another independent
investigator produce the result with a complementary experiment.
Nature is the magician here, but it doesn't really care about the
audience or what it thinks. It's up to the audience to figure out
what's wrong with the preconceptions it is holding, rather than just
tossing it up as "magic" or denying that nature could have possibly
acted that way.

That is CERTAINLY not true, neither experimentally nor according to
relativity.

You read the above web snippet and you sniff that the state of
simultaneity must surely fall among those things that would
"differentiate in any fundamental way". But simultaneity is NOT a
fundamental attribute of the experiment. It just isn't.

You certainly have not consulted the author of that web page to see
whether he would agree with you that simultaneity is a fundamental
differentiator. You are happy to just read the snippet above and
interpret it any damn way you want. That's fine for you, if you are
into self delusion.

Perhaps it only appears in the 1905 paper. Quacks
and storytellers seem quite fond of that paper to the
exclusion of latter work that uses Minkowski
space instead of Lorentz's ether.
