I've just bought an Olympus sp800uz...I see it uses an LI-50B battery,
so I thought that I would buy a backup battery....but they seem to
vary wildly in price....is there any particular reason for this ?

Well...the first link is of a genuine Olympus battery, while the second is
of a generic copy.Which one to buy, I am unfortunately not aware of...
