Dear All,

I mounted an FTP site using GNOME Connect To Server.
But I cannot PUT any files over FTP to host.
It says: Error "Bad File Handle" while copying.
However I can GET files over FTP from host alright.

On Etch it works both ways, GET and PUT, only on Lenny I have got these
errors.

Would anyone see why?
Many thanks.

I just have tested with Lenny and seems to be working fine (Connect to
server → ftp w/login). That creates a new network place I can connect to.

After that, I open the FTP session by providing credentials and copy a
local file to remote FTP location and is stored fine, no error message or
something that indicates the PUT operation has failed.

Then, if I connect from another dedicated FTP client, I can see the new
file there, so all looks good.

Have you tested with another FTP server?

P.S. AFAIK, I don't have installed "gvfs-fuse".

Greetings,

Not with a different server, but I have tested it with a different
client - command line FTP - , it works in text and binary mode and I can
upload files to the server. I cannot figure why in GUI mode it does not
work while in command line it does.

It could be a fatal combination of two causes: Nautilus ftp client
failing with a concrete FTP server.

You could file a bug report (in Debian BTS or upstream, in GNOME) but
first I would suggest you to test with a higher version of GNOME desktop.
Lenny has a quite old GNOME (2.22) and it's possible that your problem
has been already gone away with a newer release :-)
