From: Arthur Tabachneck on 1 Feb 2010 12:53 In previous years, I've tried to assist SAS-L in deciding who to nominate for SASLROY by showing which newbees were the most frequent posters. But, as Ian so correctly pointed out last year, the SAS-L Rookie of the Year award (SAS El Roy) "recognizes the person new to SAS-L making the most significant contribution to the discussions of the group." As such, this year, I'm posting instructions on how to easily get a refresher regarding which newbees posted what last year. By sending the following email, the listserv will send you an email containing the subjects lines of the earliest (up to) 100 posts sent by those newbees who had at least 20 SAS-L posts in 2009. Of course, there is no minimum posting requirement for the SASLROY award but, rather, on the time I have available to assist in this endeavor. If you think someone not included should also be considered by all means nominate them. The email you will receive from the listserv will also provide the command to email if you want to retrieve all of any individual's posts. Certainly there are MANY MANY MANY people who are very valuable contributors to the list, but only the most outstanding will qualify for MVS. This year we will be recognizing one or more winners, depending on the distribution of votes, and a scad of runners-up. What's a scad? Easy. From: Arthur Tabachneck on 1 Feb 2010 15:44 One correction has been brought to my attention: Mark Miller (i.e., MDHMILLER_at_gmail_dot_com) is DEFINITELY not a newbee. He's been posting on SAS-L since 1992 and was inadvertently captured by my admittedly not foolproof code as his last post, before 2009, was in 2004.
