From: Prageet on 6 May 2010 06:53 Dear, Can sombody help me to understand why I am getting this error while i try to open Matlab or Simulink though I am using dongle for license? The error log is : License Manager Error -4. Maximum number of users for SIMULINK reached. Try again later. To see a list of current users use the lmstat utility. ??? Error using ==> simulink Unable to check out a Simulink license. Normally, it works fine but sometimes when i close MATLAb and restart a fresh session I get this error. I get rid off this error when i restart my system three or four times but some times restarting system also does not work. I have a permanent license and the license is valid upto Dec. 2011. Please guide.

Ideally, I must not get such error when I have a dedicated license(as in using dongle). Can you please provide your valuable comments on this?

Sorry, licensing and the license manager isn't my particular forte. If that document didn't provide enough information to resolve the problem to your satisfaction, contact the installation and licensing people in Technical Support and they can figure out why you received that error even though you're using a dongle. -- Steve Lord slord(a)mathworks.com comp.soft-sys.matlab (CSSM) FAQ: http://matlabwiki.mathworks.com/MATLAB_FAQ
