go to www.kernel.org and download the kernel source for the kernel you're going
to be using, or install the kernel-source rpm from the distribution you're going
to use.

Everything you need is either in the Documentation subdirectory, or listed when
you do a 'make xconfig' in the /usr/src/linux or /usr/src/<kernelversion>
directory.

Very sweet. Thank you.

It is. And I don't want to minimise the importance of Jeff Garzik's
page (linked above) -- but would like to point out that it covers _only_
the hardware support provided by his own libata collection of SATA
drivers, and not any of the other drivers.

I have a page that attempts to catalogue Linux support for _all_ SATA
chipsets, here: "Serial ATA" on http://linuxmafia.com/kb/Hardware/

My link farm page for Linux support of _all_ hardware categories is here:
"Help Resources" on http://linuxmafia.com/kb/Hardware/

Wow! That's fantastic - thanks for the link and the hard work that went
into assembling the content. That link is a keeper.

Do you accept contributions of information?

Gratefully. You are most welcome to either use the "Suggest new link"
feature at the bottom of each of my knowledgebase's index pages, or
simply send me mail.

Thank you for thinking of that.
