I'm just wondering if there exists a live DVD/CD for SlackWare
somewhere.
Thank.

Of course, sort of.

Every official Slackware "install DVD" is bootable, and (at least) the first
CD of every official Slackware install set is bootable as well.

But, none of the recent Slackware CDs or DVDs include a /full/ bootable
Slackware environment; the bootable environments are usually small,
lightweight setups suitable for running the Linux-based install from.

No doubt that someone has repackaged Slackware into a live CD, somewhere on
the internet. Have you googled for one yet?

Sometimes you have to throw customer courtesy out the window &
tell a customer the way it is.

As far as I know, there is no full-blown complete live CD of
slackware, like Knoppix, but there are several abbreviated live CDs
based on slackware:

Slax is probably the most mature version of a Slack live CD.
Unfortunately, the last time I played with it, it needed too many pkgs
that were not included in the base CD. Things like wifi, etc, had to
be added. Not real handy to dwnld from net if you can't get on it in
the first place. They might have added wifi, now. Check it out.

Sure. But it is not necessarily publicly available ;-)

In fact, building a live CD/DVD for Slack is a matter of a few
minutes providing you have a working installation. Get build
scripts from here http://www.phenix.bnl.gov/~purschke/RescueCD/
and follow the instruction.

The only thing to take into account with this tool is that
to the contrary to the majority of other live CDs, the one
built with the above tool gets completely unpacked into RAM.
Thus, one has to estimate the amount of software included in
the CD/DVD.
