Hello NG!

My live cam 3000 seems not to be working. I like to install software but it's
telling me it's installed. I deleted the device from the hardware manger, but
still it's still being the same.

Yesterday I fixed it for the good. The cam was up an running all day. Today, again, it's
not. I clicked on the icon on the desktop, the program opened. However, connecting
to the cam failed. I got non image and no green light on top of the cam.

Then, interestingly, the process livecam.exe was showing up in 'task mamager', running
with 0% cpu load and can not be exited.

Therefore it's showing as running, clicking on the icon again yields no other result then
the mouse changing very shortly.

Does someone know how to fix it?

You don't remove the software by removing from device manager. You have to
go to Add/Remove programs and remove Microsoft LifeCam. Then check for it in
device manager and remove if there. Unplug the camera and then you cam
reinstall if you want.

Thank you for your reply. I found a Microsoft article explaining a workaround.

I unplugged the camera and, after boot up, plugged it into an other usb root hub.
The cam then was being by found and worked. Today again not. I think its an
issue with messenger software I have installed. However the cam now is up an
running. I downloaded an update that I installed, and downloaded and installed
the latest version of the messenger program afterwards.

I hope its gonna working tomorrow after reboot. The cam but was a nice piece
of hardware. It got a round base socket on that it's sitting on my CRT, that can
be flipped open in part to also clip on top of a LCD. Very nicely done. I do
love such details. The other cam I've had before could not even just sit on top
of rhe screen since it's cable was pulling the lens upright.

I had the cam installed prior than now, and I recall it was working fine back
then. Perhaps some issue with the messenger program that was new?

Today, I installed the cam and update prior to the latest version of the messenger I'm
using, currently. I think that was the clue The greenlight on top of the cam did not flicker
so nervous than it used to when the messenger connected to respectively disconnected
from the cam. It was rather as if the Windows program would connect to the cam or
disconnect.

Thanks for reading,
Steve
