Is there a setting that determines how large a log file can get in
Windows before you get that dialog box asking to save the log or clear
it? I've noticed that the same job can run on UNIX without generating
that message.

The SAS system option is DMSLOGSIZE. I didn't see any host-specific information in the SAS Help (9.2 Phase 2). According to the SAS Help, the default setting is 99,999 rows, and the maximum is 999,999 rows.
