From: natelox on 12 Apr 2010 16:48 I have a long document in which each page is independent of all the others (separated with section breaks). Each page has the same format, but different information. The document is formatted using styles to create an "Outline" (Varying levels of bullets and numbers). When I indent a line, the format changes to the desired level. What I'm finding however is that sometimes when I indent a line on, say, page 20, to change the outline level from a number to a bullet, every single line in the rest of the document that had bullets has been converted to numbers (they all moved a level up). What's happening here, and how do I prevent this from happening?
From: Stefan Blom on 20 Apr 2010 10:52 Make sure to set up your outline properly attached to paragraph styles; see http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html for the general principles. If you are using Word 2007, you can create an outline list via Home tab | Multilevel List | Define New Multilevel List; you are presented with a dialog box similar to the Customize Outline Numbered List of Word 2003, and you will be able to set up all aspects of the numbering from that dialog. To edit such a list, place the insertion point in the first level 1 item (which means the first Heading 1 paragraph of the document, if this is heading numbering), and then click Home tab | Multilevel List | Definew New Multilevel List. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "natelox" <natelox(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:C35F0A66-38F3-4738-B78F-64E0C545711C(a)microsoft.com... >I have a long document in which each page is independent of all the others > (separated with section breaks).
