I have an old asus p4p800-e board with a cpu that has heat issues and
who doesn't have heat issues. I am trying to find a cpu fan to replace
the stock fan. Any suggestions?

thanks
john

Newegg or E-Bay.

The Intel stock fans and heatsinks (with brass core) are actually pretty
good. But if you want to spend more, the Zalman coolers are usually
considered among the best.

I see they're still selling a Tuniq Tower here :-) That is one of the
largest heatsinks you can buy. The fan is contained, inside the heatsink.

I used this one on mine, and it was OK. It comes with a Fanmate II speed
controller, for manual adjustment of fan speed. The AlCu version is $10
cheaper.

Some mechanical dimensions, plus the clearance to PSU casing required for a 7000.

The CNPS7700 is a bit bigger, and there the issue is clearance
to your power supply or the like. With the 7000, the power
supply has to be about 9.5mm from the top edge of the board.
You have to check more carefully with this one, for mechanical
issues. Clearance required is a max of 30.5mm from the top edge
of the motherboard, to the PSU casing. It depends on the orientation
of the S478 socket on the motherboard.
