They suspend after 6 months but you don't lose the number & credit
till 9 months.

Compares pretty favourably to all those contracts, packs etc where you
lose your credit after just 1 month!! Even if you *were* using it!

Well we have 3 low-use PAYG Vodafone SIMs and have never had a
problem, and they've been inactive for pretty close to the 6 month
limit. Once one of them went over the 6 months but we got it
reactivated at a Vodafone shop.

Although that defeats one of the advantages of PAYG, ie that if
someone nicks your phone they can't run up a huge bill.

IIRC sykpe is only free in the UK. Could cost a fortune if you used it
abroad...
