I try not to look at rebates as a factor, but if you sneak a peak, it

Oh, I should point out:

1) It does not have HDTV out as the specification suggests. You can rig
something with DVI I suppose, but the TV-out port is just Composite/S-Video.

2) The Composite dongle may not come with it as the picture suggests. I
called Gigabyte and they happily mailed me one.

I recently bought a used nVidia MMX420 on ebay for about $15.

There's stuff like that all over ebay.

If you get a card off of eBay, you would probably be served to get one
that's passively cooled. Of the half a dozen cards I've bought that
weren't, 2/3 had their fans fail in the first week after installation.

Maybe it's just bad luck, but if you have a noisy fan you can probably
oil it up and get rid of it on eBay.
