Someone mentioned the Small Basic project so I looked it up today and it seems like a good way to get all kids interested in programming. Visual Studio really has gotten very complicated and I guess it can be pretty overwhelming for newbies and kids. Take a look; if you know some smart young ladies, see if they enjoy doing this. I'm going to try it out on my eight year old niece.
