From: aclaar877 on 14 Jan 2010 16:36 I am having a problem with MSProject moving task end dates way out into the future, even though I haven't changed duration, nor have I resource leveled the task. For example, an 80-hour task, fixed work, 75% complete, with resources working full time ends up with an end date getting kicked out several months. It's not a predecessor problem. This usually happens when I've updated resource loading or pasted a task into the project from another project. Regardless, the end date makes no sense. Any advice as to what is going on here? -- aclaar877 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ aclaar877's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/174269.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/microsoft-project/1293246.htm http://forums.techarena.in

By default, when you enter progress as percent complete or total work to date, Project uses the status date to determine where to place actual work and where to schedule remaining work. Please check the following settings in project: a) Choose Project | Project Information and validate if the Status date field is proper. b) Choose Tools | Options ... | Calculations tab. Validate the following checkboxes - Move end of completed parts after status date back to status date - Move start of remaining parts before status date forward to status date Let me know if this helps - Sai, PMP, PMI-SP, MCT, MCTS http://saipower.wordpress.com
