I suspect some PCI Ethernet cards are directly supported by Mac OS X with no need for additional drivers - though I could be wrong about that. It'd certainly be worth the time to see if that's the case before making such a purchase, IMO. -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than email to me. I realize your original question was about a Mac Pro, but the poster who was asking about adding an extra ethernet interface was specifically asking about a mini. If he had a new Mac with slots, he'd already have the 2 ethernet ports he wanted. He specifically asked for solutions that did *NOT* involve buying a pro machine. (The USB dongles mentioned by others are a fine solution). You do know that a mini doesn't have PCI ports, I assume. -- Richard Maine | Good judgment comes from experience; email: last name at domain . net | experience comes from bad judgment. domain: summertriangle | -- Mark Twain

I was thinking that any computer that could have PCI cards installed could have extra Ethernet ports. This would includer G3, G4, and G5 desktops. I ran out of USB ports and installed a PCI Express card to get more. My main glitch is that I was not thinking about the difference between a PCI Express and earlier expansion options.
