From: Tim Gowen on 12 May 2010 12:01 Sometimes I wake up my Mac and it does wake up, and the mouse pointer moves but clicking doesn't work and neither does the keyboard. Whatever mouse pointer is associated with the application that's in focus (eg a photoshop elements magnifier) stays wherever I drag the pointer. I can only find references to Bluetooth unresponsiveness. The mouse is magic but the keyboard is cabled... and I've seen this on another Mac with all wire peripherals. Snow Leopard 10.6.3. Very, very occasionally I've had my keyboard (wide Apple alu, wired) stop working. Never been able to pin down what causes it. Unplugging it and plugging it back in doesn't cure it, but a reboot does. It's happened two, maybe three times. Not enough to establish a pattern. So far no problems with the mouse (Magic). 10.6.3 Jim -- Twitter:@GreyAreaUK "[The MP4-12C] will be fitted with all manner of pointlessly shiny buttons that light up and a switch that says 'sport mode' that isn't connected to anything." Any time I've had iffiness like that, it's ended up going away after maintenance jobs and updates - cache flushing, resetting PRAM/power manager/similar, checking permissions (had a whole load that needed doing after one recent Apple update - yeah, Apple), etc. I've never been able to pin down any particular thing that did the job. Onyx: useful maintenance tool. I've taken to doing a double reboot before logging on after all heavy Mac maintenance. I've suffered a lower rate of minor iffiness since.
