That's the one.

You can also download CoconutBattery which gives all the info you need
quickly including percentage of original capacity (which System Profiler
does not show).

I have that same MBP (15" 2.53) and I am on my 3rd battery, the other 2
replaced under warranty. The last one had only 150 cycles and was at 60%
of capacity. When I removed it there were dark stains on it that looked
like something was leaking out from inside. That battery just does not
seem to make it on that computer. I have learned to keep the charge jack
handy.

As far as cycling goes, you can sometimes bring back a few percentage
points of capacity but it will not do much more.

Well, Paul, do you want good or cheap? Newer Technologies makes _good_
batteries, but they aren't cheap. Sure, we all want a good deal, but I'm
most concerned with getting a good product.

My friend (he's in Holland) downloaded coconutbattery. It reports that
his battery is at 96% of orginal and has only 40 cycles. Yet he is
only getting an hour out of it. Any ideas?

(It's a refurb direct from Apple. Not sure when he bought it. He was
in Canada when he bought it.)

does it suddenly shut down after an hour or so?

does system profiler say service battery (snow leopard only i think)?

it sounds like there may be a defective cell in the battery.
