Your kind assistance, if possible, requested. My oopses admitted in
advance, if need be.

I purchased MacSpeech Dictate Medical (MSDM) that states it is
compatible with MacOS 10.5.6, AFTER asking the seller if it would run
on 10.4.11. I was assured that it would run.

Well, after the Swine Flu and having to obtain a stand alone DVD
driver (somehow killed the one in my MBP), I find that the version of
MSDM *is not* compatible with Tiger.

So, before I take the plunge and install Snow Leopard over 10.4.11, I
am seeking your collective wizdoms (!!) regarding a possible work
around that would allow for my version of MSDM to be installed into
10.4.11.

And yes, I expressed my disappointment to the seller, who appreciated
my frustration, wondered what I was insinuating, and off handedly
derided my abilities with computers, But offered no help in rectifying
the situation.

TIA.......
Linda H.

Hi, if you have an Intel mac, I would upgrade to SL. I have MSD and it
runs great on my imac.

It isn't possible for it 1.5 and later to run on Tiger or earlier. It requires API only available on Leopard or later.

I think the big thing is that Snow Leopard is not a "plunge" from
Tiger; it's a step forward, but it won't break your software; it has
been around long enough so that if any of your software needs to be
updated the updates are almost certainly available.

As for the seller, if you mean MacSpeech (now or soon-to-be Nuance),
they have usually been pretty decent, so I don't know what up wit' dat.

Good luck. I'm not qualified to use MSDM, but I use MS, and with
patience it gives very good results.
