I suppose that depends on whether they meant 'most people in the uk prefer to see the time in 12-hour format' which I wouldn't be surprised at [1], or whether they meant 'most people prefer us to ignore their choice as to what format they wanted' [1] although on the railway I thought times were always quoted in 24 hour format? Certainly on the display boards at stations they are, so if you were going to fix your format on one type, 24-hour would make the most sense -- Woody
