WMAP images, red shifted galaxies to name two...There
are MANY more reasons that anyone in the scientific
communnity who doesn't believe in the big bang is considered
to be a kook.

You believe that the big bang happened, don't you Bast?

xxein: Agreed. What is the universal physics to an ant's
understanding? Why do 'we' think we can understand it? Do ants have
a sense of conservation and their population control? Without it,
they could easily wipe out all other species out on Earth. But then,
they would have to eventually eat their own until they die of
malnutrition.

I also agree that he cannot get something from nothing. So let's take
the back end of this first. Will any existence cease to exist? No.
So why did it have to come from nothing? If there is an infinity to
space, why can't there be an eternal existence?

So we just wish there was some creation. I don't know why. We put
some causation to some god but where did a god come from?

We can't answer all these questions and we make theories that support
only our current belief.

Yeah, they seem to have some support for what we think we currently
'know' but this was and is always changing from Aristarcus to
Einstein.

So? What do you think we 'should' believe as the physic?

Using some Genesis vocabulary, it's known as a separation(division).

In a magician's vocabulary, it's the pillars of heaven supporting the
Universe and dividing the positive(action) from the negative(reaction)
Universe.

Also called the five fingers of God.

When added together the sum total energy of the Universe is "ZERO".

My own thought is that the substance of 'matter' changed at that
point. Whatever 'it' was, back 'then', existed in abundance but
in a form which is/was beyond the forms we now say we know.

It could be that it still exists, but we are out of phase with
it, so that it occurs with and around us, so that it remains
always about of us, without our knowing. We can't see what we
aren't made to see. All we can do is speculated on our inability
to know everything.

It could be that when we postulate on the release energy from
matter, we in fact communicate briefly past this threshold of
matter with this other state of/for matter. Speaking in the
abstract, our relationship to this other existence is described
always from our point of view, which limits what we can truly
understand of the phenomena.

Emergance theory might provide a clue, if that too wasn't seen
as another kind of magic.
