Mail Merge word spacing

From: windrider on 10 May 2010 17:00 I accomplished a envelop mail merge in Office XP. Unfortunately the distance between the first and last name is too large. Looks like 15 space bars. IS there a way to reduce the distance between the first and last name woith out going into each envelop?
