I also wrote directly to the maintainer a few weeks before submitting the PR without an answer. I know the port committers have a lot of work to do, but I'd just like to ask if someone could have a look at this PR before the ports freeze for 8.1 starts. I don't really want to look demanding, so if there are no reasources right now to fullfill my request just ignore it!
