I am hitting an error on the Manage Profile Database page. The error
shown is:
An error has occurred while accessing SQL database or system resources.
If this is the first time you have seen this message, please try again
later. If this problem persists, please contact your administrator.

In the SharePoint Portal Server Logs folder, the error shown is:

I have tried to follow the steps shown in
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;ko;827840 but it does
not appear to be the issue.

Any help on how to resolve this issue is greatly appreciated.
