There is a key to do this in NewsWatcher. Anyone know if there's such a
key in Tbird? And is there a way to have Tbird initially display an NG
with threads collapsed?

C - Mark all messages in group read
n - Go to next unread message (in next group if current one is read)
y - To confirm dialogue opened by the previous step

\ - Collapse all threads
* - Open all threads
