Mathematica needs better support for automatic Hello! I prefer to use my Playstation controller (this is ment seriously) to zoom in/ zoom out/ etc.. Multiple Window Feature Request I would really like to be able to have multiple windows of the same notebook open. Often I will have a very long notebook. This feature would be especially handy in debugging, as often the way something is declared at the beginning of the notebook will create problems later. Anybody else out there think this wou... 9 Apr 2010 04:31
DatabaseLink Remote Kernel Bug/Feature Request I frequently use DatabaseLink to access a MySQL database form mathematica. I also use multiple remote kernels. I have found that I cannot call DatabaseLink in multiple sessions (each for a different kernel) from the same front-end. Has anybody else had this problem, or found a solution? For now I only open one ... 7 Apr 2010 04:34
Reverse the scale in Mathematica plot Dear experts, How can I control the plot (reverse or mirror) so that my axes origin wil be not at the bottom left but on the top right. Example: This Plot ListPlot[Prime[Range[25]]] is going from bottom left to top right. How can I change the plot so that it would go from top right to bottom left (Axis Oridin 0,... 27 Mar 2010 09:34
3D DiscretePlot I know that DiscretePlot is able to deal only with 1D discrete lists (leading to a standard xOy plot). I have a function defined on a (very high) number of points on a bounded 2D grid, is it possible to plot these values in a 3D plot? If not, is it possible to interpolate these points (they are defined as Down... 26 Mar 2010 06:53
Mathematica needs better support for automatic zooming into a plot In another system (starts with the letter M and ends with the letter B), one can easily zoom within a plot using the mouse, by making a rectangular shape to select the zoom region, and the plot is then replotted to fit into the new area. Then using the mouse, one can unzoom back to the original scale. These fun... 26 Mar 2010 06:53
Substitute expressions with FullSimplify Hello world! This is my first post in this group, but it has been a while since I started reading it. I always found it quite useful, therefore I wish to thank everibody for their contributions! Here is my problem. Let's say I have an expression. I would like to substitute all the occurences of a given subexpr... 29 Mar 2010 06:55
Mathematica starts badly 1 time over 5 in OSX Helo, I'm using Mathematica 7.0.1 for students in OSX 10.6.2 and it works really nice ... when it starts. The problem is that sometimes when i run Mathematica the kernel doesn't start well and i have to restart, i can't even do a single computation. This happens one time every 4-5 run of the program. After... 15 Apr 2010 00:28
15! permutations Hi, I'm trying to write a program in mathematica that compares roughly (15!)^2 / 2 pairs of permutations of length 15. Can mathematica do this in a reasonable time? Any experience of this sort? TIA, bn77 ... 27 Mar 2010 09:34
Fourier transform of exponential function I am trying to do a Fourier transform of a simple exponential function, by using the following code: FourierTransform[Exp[-t], t, =F9] By Mahtematica 5.0, I obtain \sqrt(2 Pi) DiracDelta[ I + =F9 ] By Mathematica 7.0, I obtain a repetition of the original input as FourierTransform[Exp[-t], t, =F9]. I search to... 29 Mar 2010 06:55 |
