From: 2d on 19 Jan 2010 02:19 I've just installed Matlab on a new PC, but the program fails to start. Upon starting up the program there is a momentary splash on the screen of the Matlab start-up window and Matlab program showing up briefly in the Task Manager under Processes. However, these then both vanish and Matlab appears just to abort its start-up. I've removed all firewals so there no problem with licence authentication and tried reinstalling the programe, but that makes no difference. There are no obvious promblems in Event Viewer and other than that there is no other apparent diagnostic information. Grateful for any suggestions. many thanks, Neil

Thank you, Neil
From: Matt Fig on 19 Jan 2010 12:43 I have the same problem on vista with 2007a and b. I click the ML icon and a black, DOS type box is briefly visible followed by the splash screen. The splash is only visible for a split second, then nothing. I have found if I just keep clicking, usually on the third or fourth try I can get the splash screen to stick, and ML to start.
