Hello all!

I have trouble tackling the following problem. Let f be a C^n real
function on an open interval. It naturally induces a mapping on self-
adjoint matrices with spectrum in the interval. Is this mapping also n
times differentiable? I suspect yes, but I only found a proof for the
case n=1, and it cannot be generalized. Do you have any ideas or
references I can explore?
