I got motivated and set up an old system with 8.0 and current ports. The patched 1.9.100 mga driver works, at least with one monitor. Are you trying to use dual monitors with the G550, or is one monitor enough? -Warren Block * Rapid City, South Dakota USA _______________________________________________ freebsd-ports(a)freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-ports To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-ports-unsubscribe(a)freebsd.org"

FWIW, I just tested current ports on a g450 agp, single display with my not yet committed drm work and all seemed well. I do have a g550 around here, but it isn't in a machine right now. robert. > -Warren Block * Rapid City, South Dakota USA > _______________________________________________ > freebsd-ports(a)freebsd.org mailing list > http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-ports > To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-ports-unsubscribe(a)freebsd.org" -- Robert Noland <rnoland(a)FreeBSD.org> FreeBSD _______________________________________________ freebsd-ports(a)freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-ports To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-ports-unsubscribe(a)freebsd.org"

I used the DVI head of G550 which can't get more than 800x600 res. My system is on 8 stable with xf86-video-mga-1.4.10,2. I just want the res can be 1024x768,that is what I want. Does the patched 1.9.100 mga driver met my quest? _______________________________________________ freebsd-ports(a)freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-ports To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-ports-unsubscribe(a)freebsd.org"

It worked for me! I just followed your instructions and got 1024x768 res on DVI head. Thanks for your guide and other people who helped me and made this happened! Happy new year!
