I tried it, and I gotta say, my 6-year-old PC sure was having a hard
time with that page!

Using URL Snooper 2, I was able to get a number of multimedia file URLs,
which I was then able to open with MPC (also they were playable in
Windows Media Player 6.4). The files were:

mms://a1812.v8725c.c8725.g.vc.akamaistream.net/7/1812/8725/v0001/msnent.

There may or may not be a way to trick Web sites into thinking that MPC
is WM 9 (or 10), but I'm not sure how this would be done. But if this
were possible, the URL Snooper step wouldn't be necessary.

Thanks so much for taking a look at this, Dave! Your URLs worked in MP
7.10 just fine. I will go get URL Snooper and use it for these webpages
that demand MP 9 or 10.

Thanks again, Dee

Codecs for WMP 6.4 and 7.1 can be found here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/results.aspx?pocId=4&freetext=codecs&DisplayLang=en

These will bring WMP 9 support yo the earlier versions of WMP. If you
use MPC, then you should also probably install one of the major codec
packages sich as the K lite codec pack.
Using WMP 6.4 and the above download I am able to play 95% or better of
all the media out there. I also have Quicktime, Flash and Real
alternative installed. Someday I will consider getting rid of WMP 6.4
and trying another solution, but for now it is good enough for me.

I have been using Media player 6.4 for quite a while, but I find that it
doesn't work on some sites where you need a more recent version of media
player. I was thining of trying the Classic version which somebody
mentiion here. I don't want all the junk on WMP 9 or 10 as I don't use
Media player all that often. Just when a site demands it.
