From: Andrew on 18 Nov 2009 07:06 Hi, Since you're probably dealing with research papers and scholarly articles, we thought it might be of interest if we told you about Mendeley (http://www.mendeley.com), a free research paper management and bibliography tool. Mendeley is a combination of free academic software (available for Windows, Mac and Linux) and a Web 2.0 research network - combined, they enable you to: - manage your research papers online and offline, including tags, automatic filters, and full-text search; - read and annotate your PDFs directly in Mendeley's PDF viewer; - synchronize your research papers across multiple computers and access them from anywhere; - generate citations and bibliographies in Word and OpenOffice; - create shared collections and public reading lists to collaborate with other researchers or within a lab/department; - discover research trends, and connect to like-minded academics. We're happy to say that we have investment from the people behind Skype, Last.fm and Warner Music to develop Mendeley further. Apologies for this post if it doesn't interest you - but if it does, you'd be doing us a huge favour by helping us to spread the word. And if you'd like any further information or have feedback, please just let me know! Many thanks, Andrew |
