So I put MSE on[already running on my desktop - XP SP3] and so far one would hardly notice it - full scan 40-45 minutes is most acceptable for me. It does sort of phone home to dll updates. With the other two MBAM and SAS again all free and highly recommended by Ken's colleagues, one needs nothing more for basic security. Rgds Antioch

From: Unknown on 30 Jun 2010 10:27 Bad mistake going back to AVG. Disk access no more frequent. Suggest you reinstall and monitor reason for disk access. Looks like you're out-of-luck with Win2k. Here's a quote from the MS website: \quote Minimum system requirements for Microsoft Security Essentials Operating System: Genuine Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3); Windows Vista (Gold, Service Pack 1, or Service Pack 2); Windows 7 \end quote Might try Avast...I just installed it on an old Winbook laptop with only 128mb ram. Runs great. Had a heck of a time getting AVG out of the system first. Good luck. -- Google is your friend.....
