From: isititis on 9 Apr 2010 20:24 Hello, I have a HP Pavilion running Win XP Home with SP3. Microsoft Works 8 was already installed when the pc was bought in March 2004. No discs came with the pc. I am now having problems when I want to write letters. There is nothing under quick launch in Works where I usually open the program for typing. There is Works Spreadsheet and Works Database, but that's all. Any information as to how to correct this problem will be much appreciated.

(re: "I am now having problems...") What was the name of application you used before you started "having problems"? What happened to change your use of this application? Contact HP and find out where your media is (although - you went 6 years without it - I doubt they will care about your issue now.) Otherwise - purchase a real office suite or download and utilize a free one: OpenOffice ( http://download.openoffice.org/ ) -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

If so create a shortcut to the Works Word processor program and place it on your desktop or some place else you desire. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Works\wkswp.exe
