From: Andrea Caldarone on 5 Nov 2009 06:13 Hi all, source server: Windows 2008 (not R2) x64 I've 20 users that connect to it from their thin clients, they have all data on that server: documents, files etc. destination server: Windows 2008 R2 I have to replace "source server" with "destinaton server", basically on the source server there are only MS Office application (Word, Excell, Outlook), I've installed them on the "destination server". All users can connect to the "destination server". I have to migrate all their data and settings to the "destination server". Which is the best way? Thanks
From: Soo Kuan Teo [MSFT] on 9 Nov 2009 13:38 Are all the user data in their own user profile? Are those user accounts local users or domain users? Could be a share on the TS itself. Do this for one user only so you can test. Then logon as that user. His local profile on the TS will be copied to the roaming share. Now if you logon to the new server using that account all data should be brought over as the new TS will get the roaming profile. Once this is done, if you want to keep the local profile, simply remove the TS Profile Roaming Path and the new TS will start using the local one for that user. -- Claudio Rodrigues CEO, WTSLabs Inc. http://www.wtslabs.com "WebTS: TSWeb the way it should have been done since day one" Citrix CTP Provision Networks VIP Make sure you download our free guide about Terminal Services.
