It's designed to just work. That includes being able to migrate from Macs running older OS versions. How could it NOT? Of course one's older computer should be expected to be running an older OS! Anyway, as long as your apps are SL-compatible (and Office 2004 is fine, even Office X is okay), you should be fine. Some may require serial numbers to be re-entered (Office does _not_), and programs that require activation may need to be reactivated. Are you using any versions of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements? Elements 2.0 won't work on anything later than Tiger. -- My latest dance performance <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_9pudbFisE> Mac and geek T-shirts & gifts <http://designsbymike.net/shop/mac.cgi> Prius shirts/bumper stickers <http://designsbymike.net/shop/prius.cgi>

And I just told you that's one that does _not_ require the serial number again. > Too bad I will lose Classic unless there is a way to migrate Photoshop and > my other apps to SL with some other way to run OS 9 in SL. There's Sheepshaver, which will let you run Mac OS 9.0.4 or earlier (not 9.1 or later, and earlier includes at least as far back as 7.5.5), but its not seamless like Classic. Far from it. I guarantee you'll hate it. I bet you can buy a copy of Photoshop Elements 3.0 really cheap. -- My latest dance performance <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_9pudbFisE> Mac and geek T-shirts & gifts <http://designsbymike.net/shop/mac.cgi> Prius shirts/bumper stickers <http://designsbymike.net/shop/prius.cgi>

I don't know what you mean by "base version" but in any case you won't mind the kernel panics? -- My latest dance performance <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_9pudbFisE> Mac and geek T-shirts & gifts <http://designsbymike.net/shop/mac.cgi> Prius shirts/bumper stickers <http://designsbymike.net/shop/prius.cgi>
