Hi Mike Gasson.
Forget Chrome,Iron is Chrome, and it is secure as well. Use it
instead,it has no disadvantages related to Chrome, its just better.

No option to import from firefox. Too much German, not enough EnglishI
don't want to have to setup all my passwords, bookmarks etc all over again.
Have I missed something?

When you say "import from firefox" do you mean bookmarks? Iron imported
my bookmarks & passwords just fine. I've used it (not 5.0x yet though).
Not sure what your "etc" is though.

As far as the rest... <shrug>

The company's site has both an English & German version. They've been
offering Iron for almost as long as Chrome has been available and don't
lag terribly between updates. IOW, they've been consistent and
dependable: they're providing a great product/service.

Sorry, that was me shooting from the lip! I found the Firefox import OK
(bookmarks, passwords)later but it didn't import my Personal toolbar,
presumably as it doesn't use it (that was etc.).
In the interest of fairness, I will keep it for a while. Just an
ill-defined feeling at the moment, that I'm looking for something
between Iron and Chrome!
Maybe I'm too used to Firefox and Opera.
THanks.

No umbrage taken here... <grin> I wanted to share my sense that SRWare
is a stand-up company. This was just in case someone had the idea that
SRWare was... I dunno... flaky or something.

Me too, probably. I'm pretty much sold on FFx for my desktop/laptops
and Opera for my phone. At this point, browsers are in my "if it ain't
broke, don't fix it category."
