I had to re-install bigpond newsgroups on Opera to get it to work
again. Nothing else I tried worked on Opera.

With Free Agent I had to "Sample Headers From Selected Groups" after
which it downloaded the most recent posts and after that Free Agent
worked normally again.

I unsubscribed from the newsgroups and subscribed again.
