If one day we'll be able to move our planet further away from the sun,
people in hot and arid countries will not have to suffer from extreme
heat and aridity during summer.

Making the earth go more distant from the sun will lower temperatures
worldwide and currently deserted areas will receive more rain.

Lower temperatures means the Sahara desert will no longer be a desert.
It will have more convient temperatures and more rain like in the
distant past. Angola, Namibia, Egypt, Lybia, Algeria, Yemen, Saudi
Arabia, Oman, Ethiopia, Somalia, Djehuti and the Negev region in
Israel will no longer be desert countries and will have lower and more
convient temperatures.

If one day we could do that, we'll be able to create much more
convient temperatures in countries and regions of the world which are
currently too arid and too hot and therefore very hard to live in.

And the next time we go into major glaciation (after moving the
planet), we could go into run-away global freeze up, ensuring mass
extinction. I once calculated that one only needs to move the
earth's orbit out a few centimeters every 600 years to keep up
with the increasing solar output.

No, the whole solar system is balanced as it is. Don't move anything!

The Earth is already further from the Sun than it was last January. At the
moment it is getting closer and will reach perihelion (closest approach) in
early January, then it will move away again for another year. That is
because it has an elliptical orbit. Northern winter occurs at the same time
as the Earth is closest to the Sun. That is because the Earth is tilted. So
the way things are, Northern winters are warmer than they would otherwise be
because we are closer to the sun and Southern summers are cooler than they
would otherwise be, which helps Australia keep down bush fires. If you would
like it to be cooler, go and live in Greenland or Antarctica or on a
mountain in the Himalayas or Alps or Andes instead, because your suggestion
will only make Norway, Sweden, Finland, Kamchatka, Alaska and Canada into
frozen deserts. Nobody is stopping you move, but don't dream of interfering
with Earth's orbit when you don't know what you are doing. It is fine the
way it is and Earth has supported life for 3 billion years. Your suggestion,
even if it were possible, would only lead to catastrophic extinction of all
life. People live where fresh water and food is available and migrate when
it isn't. If it is too hot for you where you live, MOVE. But don't come
here, you are not intelligent enough.
