From: Gale Green on 4 Jun 2010 11:24 Hi all. I've had VS 2008 for about six months, installed alongside VS 6 (well, I only installed VB 6 and omitted the rest). I'm developing on Vista and deploying to Vista and 7, but I only have one machine available for development. Now, I've just taken delivery of VS 2010 (June 2010 MSDN shipment) and I'm not sure how to proceed. I need VB6 because I haven't finished converting all the old projects yet. If I install VS 2010, and all my VS 2008 projects convert OK, I would then want to uninstall VS 2008. I've seen a few problems mentioned uninstalling 2010 when it's been installed alongside 2008 but I wonder whether to expect any problems doing it the other way around? A couple of large VS 2008 projects are live so I don't want to uninstall 2008 until I'm sure that 2010 is working properly, and able to convert the 2008 projects successfully. Thanks for any guidance. Gale.
From: Gale Green on 6 Jun 2010 00:37 For the benefit of anyone still reading this NG, I installed VS 2010, converted all my VB 2008 projects without a hitch, then uninstalled VS 2008. No problems anywhere at all. Gale.
